Küstenstadt der antiken Ursprungs, deren Wirtschaft auf den Tourismus und seine induziert, auf maritime Tätigkeiten und auf die Industrie. Die große Mehrheit der Sangiorgesi, dessen Alterungsindex liegt über dem Durchschnitt, ist in der Hauptstadt konzentriert, und nur ein kleiner Teil der Gemeinde befindet sich in verstreuten Häusern auf den Fonds. Der älteste Teil der Stadt, am Fuße der ersten Hügeln der Marken, hat eine typische mittelalterliche Struktur, mit engen Gassen und unregelmäßig; in der Nähe der Küste entspannen anstatt die modernen Stadtteile, die zwischen dem Anfang des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts und der zweiten Hälfte des gleichen Jahrhunderts entwickelt und zeichnet sich durch geometrische Schnittpunkt der breiten Alleen mit langen Reihen von Palmen umrahmt. Der Küstenstreifen ist für 7 Meilen entwickelt, mit feinen Sandstränden, die sanft zum Meer hin, reich an Fisch; der innerste Bereich der Gemeinde, rangiert hügelig, anstelle von Wiesen, Ackerland und einem spärlichen Mittelmeer bedeckt. Auf dem roten Hintergrund der Stadtwappen, durch das Dekret des Präsidenten des Ministerrates erteilt, zeigt ein silbernes Kreuz mit den Enden der ausgestreckten Arme.

Coastal town of ancient origin, whose economy is based on tourism and its induced, on maritime activities and on the industry. The vast majority of Sangiorgesi, whose aging index is above average, is concentrated in the capital city and only a small part of the community resides in scattered houses on the funds. The oldest part of the town, at the foot of the first hills of the Marche, has a typical medieval structure, with narrow streets and irregular; near the coast relax instead the modern districts, which have developed between the early twentieth century and the second half of the same century and characterized by geometric intersection of wide avenues framed by long rows of palm trees. The coastal strip is developed for 7 miles, with fine sandy beaches that slope gently towards the sea, rich in fish; the innermost area of the township, ranked hilly, is instead covered by meadows, arable land and a sparse Mediterranean. On the red background of the municipal coat of arms, granted by Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, depicts a silver cross with the ends of the arms outstretched.

Cittadina costiera di antica origine, la cui economia si basa sul turismo balneare e sul suo indotto, sulle attività marinare e sull’industria. La stragrande maggioranza dei sangiorgesi, il cui indice di vecchiaia è superiore alla media, si concentra nel capoluogo comunale mentre solo una piccola parte della comunità risiede in case sparse sui fondi.

La parte più antica dell’abitato, posta ai piedi dei primi rilievi collinari dell’entroterra marchigiano, presenta una tipica struttura medievale, con vie strette e irregolari; in prossimità della costa si distendono invece i quartieri moderni, sviluppatisi tra i primi anni del Novecento e la seconda metà dello stesso secolo e caratterizzati dal geometrico incrocio di ampi viali incorniciati da lunghe file di palme.

La fascia costiera si sviluppa per ben 7 chilometri, con spiagge di sabbia fine che degradano lentamente verso il mare, ricco di fauna ittica; l’area più interna del territorio comunale, classificato collinare, è invece ricoperta da prati, seminativi e da rada macchia mediterranea. Sullo sfondo rosso dello stemma comunale, concesso con Decreto del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri, è raffigurata una croce d’argento con le estremità dei bracci allargate.
