Küstenstadt, in der Antike gebaut; die Heimat einer blühenden Handwerk Schuhe, wird von der Badetourismus und eine solide industrielle Geräte unterstützt. Die Gemeinschaft der portoelpidiensi, mit einer alternden Index Average, ist vor allem in der Hauptstadt konzentriert, obwohl viele Agglomerationen Grund- und verstreuten Häusern, die das Gemeindegebiet, klassifiziert hügelig. Die Stadt, gestreckt mit regelmäßigen Plan hinter der dünnen Küstenstreifen besteht aus modernen Gebäuden, mit Blick auf breiten Alleen mit Palmen gesäumt und zur Küste -quest’ultimo eines langen, schmalen Strand von Sand und Kies besteht, die parallel angeordnet in langsamen Steigung in Richtung der See-. Aufstieg im Hinterland eher niedrigen Hügeln, mit Getreide, Wiesen und dichten Formationen der mediterranen bedeckt. An der Spitze des Wappens, durch das Dekret des Präsidenten der Republik gewährt, werden in blauen Feld dargestellt, eine goldene Sonne mit sechzehn Strahlen und ein Boot, das auf das Meer segelt, umgeben von grünen Wellen und Silber überquert; unten aber steht die goldene Biene auf rotem Hintergrund. Außerhalb des Schildes, in ein Buch mit blauen Enden bifide, heraus dem Motto IN litore Fulget.

Coastal town, built in ancient times; home to a flourishing craft of footwear, is supported by the seaside tourism and a solid industrial apparatus. The community of portoelpidiensi, with an aging index average, is concentrated mainly in the capital city, though many urban agglomerations elementary and scattered houses that dot the municipality, classified hilly. The town, stretched with regular plan behind the thin coastal area, consists of modern buildings, overlooking wide avenues lined by palm trees and arranged parallel to the coast -quest’ultimo consists of a long, narrow beach of sand and gravel in slow slope toward the sea-. Rise in the hinterland rather low hills, covered with crops, grasslands and dense formations of Mediterranean. At the top of the coat of arms, granted by Decree of the President of the Republic, are depicted in blue field, a golden sun with sixteen rays and a boat that sails the sea, crossed by green waves and silver; at the bottom, however, stands the golden bee on red background. Outside of the shield, on a scroll with blue ends bifide, figure the motto IN litore Fulget.

Cittadina costiera, sorta nella più remota antichità; sede di un fiorente artigianato delle calzature, è sorretta dal turismo balneare e da un solido apparato industriale. La comunità dei portoelpidiensi, con un indice di vecchiaia nella media, si concentra prevalentemente nel capoluogo comunale, pur essendo molti gli agglomerati urbani elementari e le case sparse che costellano il territorio comunale, classificato collinare.

L’abitato, allungato con pianta regolare a ridosso della sottile zona costiera, è composto da costruzioni moderne, che si affacciano su ampi viali fiancheggiati da palme e disposti parallelamente al litorale –quest’ultimo consiste in una lunga e stretta spiaggia di sabbia e ghiaia, in lento declivio verso il mare–. Nell’immediato entroterra s’innalzano invece basse colline, rivestite di coltivi, praterie erbose e fitte formazioni di macchia mediterranea.

Nella parte superiore dello stemma comunale, concesso con Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica, sono raffigurati, in campo azzurro, un sole d’oro a sedici raggi e una barca che veleggia sul mare, percorso da onde verdi e argentate; nella parte inferiore, invece, campeggia un’ape dorata su sfondo rosso. Fuori dello scudo, su un cartiglio azzurro con le estremità bifide, figura il motto IN LITORE FULGET.
